Extensive factory extension supports business growth

A thirty-year relationship between client KMG and AFP has enabled six substantial extension projects on this commercial site in Cambridgeshire.

The most recent project saw 2500m² of manufacturing space added to factory facilities. AFP developed the main structure to include a three-bay steel portal frame. This was able to support internal travelling cranes, as well as first floor office space.

Externally, we completed civil engineering for external roads and hardstanding. Our team produced SUDS drainage designs to enable rainfall collected on the expansive roofs and other surfaces to be disposed of on-site by ground infiltration.

“Andrew Firebrace Partnership have always provided efficient engineering designs in a timely manner to meet our programmes and budget whilst understanding the brief.
They are always willing to visit the site during design and construction to ensure the projects progress without delay and meet quality expectations.
We have used Andrew Firebrace Partnership for nearly forty years to provide structural and civil engineering services across our main manufacturing facility and during this time they have been involved with six major extensions totalling about 7,500m² of new industrial space.
We look forward to working with them again on our next project.”
